Lower back pain. any sufferers?
Got up this morning right as rain, had breakfast, dropped spoon on the floor, went to pick it up and…………ahhhhhhhhhhhh WTF ive caught Dimitri Payet?

Got myself to the Doctor, which was a struggle in itself, just putting shoes and socks on was agony, who just said pain killers is all they can give me and it will slowly go in its own time, and now its happened once it will likely happen again, fucking great I thought.

Anyone else have this and any suggestions to ease the pain or speed the recovery, or how to prevent it happening again as currently im like a crippled old man, fuck it hurts when I move, cant even lie down without the dull aching pain, and all right out of the blue.

Doc reckons a back spasm, torn ligament or muscle, but its almost impossible to know which or why it occurred, do yoga he told me!!!!

Oh, I get it now, Squiddly.

You're pretending to have an injured back so that you don't have to watch West Ham.

Thanks all, for the advice, will be sorting out some physio tomorrow.

Pretty rough night, even with pain killers every time I move the wrong way its ahhhhhhh!

Feels a bit better today though, doc said to try and move around as much as I could, which I have done, never saw the game, even though I couldn’t sleep too well, as was not really in the mood for it, but we won and just watched the highlights, and that perked me up some as well.

Re: Lower back pain. any sufferers?
I'll just add that Pilates aggravates my low back pain. All of the exercises in Pilates that force you to round your back while lifting body weight places a lot of stress on the lumbar. Obviously it works for some people on here, but as with anything low back related, gradually introduce it.

I had this Sydney - absolute agony - not worse than child birth according to mrsRon.....you should go and see Sarah Key...6th Floor, 44 Bridge Street, Sydney, NSW 2000, http://www.simplebackpain.com/ - sorted me out - I'm 56, was a matter of getting flexibility back and strengthening.
If you get desperate Voltaren Rapid works too.

Good luck, there is hope you know!

Re: Lower back pain. any sufferers?
Yeh since 25th May 1966, the day i was born.

The main thing is still do as much as possible otherwise it'll get worse, drink water, stretch.

Different strokes for different folks though so you have to find out what works for you.

Try pilates etc to strengthen the core.

Try to do everything face on ie without twisting.

Get a decent bed.

My son is disabled and struggles to walk distances I had constant back pain from picking him up and twisting etc...

I started swimming and doing press ups now I can pick him up one armed and no back pain....

Re: Lower back pain. any sufferers?
Once your back is better, do closed kinetic chain leg exercises to slowly build strength. Particularly your glutes and hamstrings. Those muscles provide significant support to your low back and will help stabilise and alleviate the stressed vertebrae. But don't overdo it otherwise you'll just exacerbate the issue.

The bitch of it is trying to keep up the exercises

Re: Lower back pain. any sufferers?
Had a few months of this.

- Do you stretches that the physio tells you twice a day
- Take 400g of Magnesium
- Drink plenty of water
- Do pilates once a week

Memory foam mattress. Had one four years, never had lower back pain since. Takes a few weeks to get used to it but once you do they are lovely. DON'T buy a Tempur, very overpriced.
